Kirsty Brooks was born in Whyalla and now lives in Adelaide. She is the director of an assessment and editing agency for writers and is also Chair of the South Australian Writers’ Centre.

Kirsty is the author of Hitching: Tales from the Byways and Superhighways, Mad Love and Lady Luck, which was shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Crime Novel in 2003.

Kirsty is also the creator of amateur sleuth Cassidy Blair, who features in the comedic crime novels The Vodka Dialogue and The Happiness Punch. The Vodka Dialogue was shortlisted for the 2004 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Novel.

Kirsty will release the new Cassidy Blair novel, The Millionaire Float, in July 2005.
