Ian Britain (Convenor)

Ian Britain is the editor of Meanjin, Australia's oldest literary magazine. He has worked as a lecturer at Oxford and Melbourne universities, and a freelance writer and journalist. His publications include Fabianism and Culture (2006), Once an Australian: Journeys with Barry Humphries, Clive James, Germaine Greer and Robert Hughes (1997). With Brenda Niall and Pamela Williams, he edited the Oxford Book of Australian Schooldays (1997). Britain was a founding editor of the Melbourne magazine Webber's and was a guest editor of Island. In 2001 he became the seventh editor of Meanjin.

Jane Grant

Jane Grant is a Melbourne-based author. Her biography Kylie Tennant: A Life was published by the National Library of Australia in June 2006.

Ellen Koshland

Ellen Koshland is the Founder and President of the Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to stimulate new thinking about public education in Australia and fund innovative student projects in government schools. Originally from the United States, she has lived in Australia since 1973. She is a graduate of Princeton University and an author of a children’s book and an historical chronicle.

John Rickard

John Rickard is an Australian historian and a pioneer of Australian Studies. He is the author of many well-known works, including Australia: a Cultural History. John's honorary professorial associate appointment at Monash University is shared by the School of Historical Studies and the National Centre for Australian Studies and the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences, both in the Faculty of Arts. Professor John Rickard has accepted the Monash Visiting Fellowship in Australian Studies at Copenhagen University for 2007.

Bruce Sims

Bruce Sims is now a freelance editor, having worked as a publisher for Penguin and Magabala Books for many years. He has also taught at all levels from primary to tertiary, professional and adult education.
