| Michael Gawenda (convenor)Michael Gawenda is one of Australia’s best-known journalists and authors. In a journalism career spanning three decades, Michael has been a political reporter, a foreign correspondent based in London and in Washington, a columnist, a feature writer and an editor. He has won numerous journalism awards, including three Walkley awards. Gawenda began his journalism career at The Age in Melbourne in 1970. His book American Notebook: A Personal and Political Journey, was published in 2007 by Melbourne University Publishing. |

| Jill SingerJill Singer is a Walkley award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author. Her book Immaculate Conceptions was published in 2005 and focuses on the ethical quandaries inherent in the assisted reproductive technology industry. A columnist with the Herald Sun, Jill is also a journalism lecturer at RMIT University and is researching the nexus between satire and journalism. |

| Leigh SalesLeigh Sales is an award-winning journalist and author. She anchors ABC1's acclaimed Lateline program on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. From 2006 to 2008, she was the network’s National Security Correspondent and from 2001 to 2005, Washington Correspondent. Leigh won a Walkley award in 2005 for her radio reporting on Guantanamo Bay and has been nominated each year since, including for her on-the-ground reporting of Hurricane Katrina, her broadcast interviewing skills and her first book, Detainee 002: The Case of David Hicks. It was also shortlisted for the 2008 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. Her latest book is On Doubt. | |
