The Prize for Indigenous Writing
This biennial prize is designed to reward and promote books in all literary categories written by Aboriginal or Torres Strait authors. This includes fiction, non-fiction, poetry, works for children, biographies and memoirs.
The prize is open to those who are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and who are accepted as such by the communities in which they live.
The Prize for Indigenous Writing is not offered in 2009.
