2009 Awards
In 2009 prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
The Vance Palmer Prize for Fiction The Nettie Palmer Prize for Non-fiction The Prize for Young Adult Fiction The Prize for an Unpublished Manuscript by an Emerging Victorian Writer The CJ Dennis Prize for Poetry The Louis Esson Prize for Drama The Alfred Deakin Prize for an Essay Advancing Public Debate The John Curtin Prize for Journalism The Prize for Best Music Theatre Script The Grollo Ruzzene Foundation Prize for Writing about Italians in Australia The Prize for Science Writing
In 2009 the following awards will NOT be offered: The Prize for a First Book of History and The Prize for Indigenous Writing.
The 2009 shortlist will be announced on Friday 7 August, and winners will be announced at a celebratory dinner on Tuesday 1 September.
2008 winners
The winners of the 12 categories of the 2008 Awards were announced on 1 September 2008 by the Premier John Brumby.
