Program of Events

The Independent Type exhibition is accompanied by an array of events and activities. The extensive program includes talks, tours, films and workshops, and many of them are free!

Opening weekend and guided tours

Join in a weekend activity to celebrate the storytelling culture of Indigenous Victorians, attend the curator's introduction or join a guided tour.

Thursday evening events

The exhibition stays open until 9pm on Thursdays, with a special event every Thursday evening or afternoon. View the exhibition after hours and enjoy talks, films and performances.

Other events & activities

Other complementary events include writing and digital storytelling workshops, forums, script readings and walking tours.

Children's activities

In these fun sessions just for kids, children can listen to stories, explore the Library and make their own digital storybooks and comics.
