Program of Events
A rich and varied program of events (many of them free), ranging from illustrated talks to music concerts and activities for children, has been organised in association with the exhibition The Medieval Imagination.
In addition, Imagination, Books and Community in Medieval Europe, a major conference featuring international experts, will be held at the State Library of Victoria from 29 to 31 May 2008.

Free introductory talks and tours, including a curator's tour; a series of free talks on Life in the Middle Ages; Medieval manuscripts illuminated - a series of free illustrated talks; and a range of other talks, including the annual Foxcroft Lecture.
In these illustrated talks over two days, international and local experts will introduce a range of fascinating manuscripts selected from the exhibition.
These unique concerts of sacred and secular medieval music will be introduced by John Griffiths, Professor of Music and Director of the Early Music Studio at the University of Melbourne.
Be transported back to the Middle Ages at the State Library’s Medieval Faire – a day of free activities to entertain, inspire and delight the whole family!
Free activities for children and families, March-April school holiday activities, and school programs for teachers and students.
A talk by author Geraldine Brooks, a public lecture on bestiaries and psalters of the Middle Ages and an exhibition on books about Cambridge. To be held at the Library and University of Melbourne venues.
