a Dog Howl this Evening about
8 oclock – the weather during the time
we have been verry good and warm
walked about 30 miles to day

Friday 5th June 1835


left the River this morning for W-N-
W- direction the River took a North
one I intend to cross some large
Plains and get into Tiers on the other
crossed the Plains which was verry
extensive on all sides as far as I
could see we saw a large flock
of Emu , to day but to far for the Dogs
to come up with them saw some
wild Geese - crossed three streams
of fresh water and both sides of
each the Banks were steep but
covered with Grass to the edge
the water in some parts of the
Creeks the water did not run
but large and deep Ponds remained
in the bed
