not fall in with any fresh water
the whole of this day and just at
sun set when about to stop for the
Night on the Banks of the River I saw
a damp place. I ordered one of the men
(Gumm) to make a hole with a stick
which He did about 2 feet deep
and in less then One hour
we had a plentifull supply of
good soft water - and by 10 Oclock
this Evening the hole was running
of the top, the water beautifull &
clear - this I am certain good
be done in most places, and would
at once do way with the appearent
difficiency of water - over the Country
I have as yet travelled, we saw several
forest Kangaroo, & one Native Dog,
the River varies from 100 yds to
60 up it, and at this place it is
not more than 40 yds - I think it
get smaller as we go up - I have
this place Gumm's Well –
