Hobsons Bay

is nothing but She Oak
we endeavoured to get up
the River but found the
water not more than
one fathom - however
the Channell will be
looked for tomorrow
and I have hopes we shall
be able to find a good
Channil up for some
distance. I went on shore
this Evening and found the
Land good covered with
Kangaroo Grass - and
thinly timbered with
She Oak as I have before
stated - we saw great
numbers of Pelicans, and
Swan’s, some score’s also
Ducks, and Teal - the Coast
or Bay, in every direction
I have been seems to possess
great numbers of Quail
more than I ever saw in
