I wished for this morning came
true as up to this time the
wind is fair and we are
going on well towards
Circular Head - and Every
prospect of a fair Wind over
to Port Phillip - I am thankfull
for this -

Wednesday 27th 1835

The wind remained good and
fair up to about 2 Oclock
this morning when it came
from the N.W. & ½ N. we
could not keep our course
therefore made the West
Hunter, having run 80
miles since we left
Port Sorrell, this was
not doing so bad and
in short more than I expected

This manuscript is one of a selection of documents relating to the early European settlement of Victoria.
This digital copy of the manuscript was created as part of the Port Phillip Papers Digitisation Project.
