My Dear Sir
As Mr. Buxton appears to think
that the Association has acknowledged the
Right of Govt to deprive the natives of their
Father land - You will perhaps think it
right to put him in possession of the real State
of the Case - no offer to Govt of mine has
at all impugned or weakened in any way
the Conventional rights of the aborigines ob-
-tained and Secured to them by treaty and which must be held
Sacred - in what-way - Soever the
Government may act unless
we shall be expelled the territory
by coercion or Some overt
act tantamount to this - -
matter by our British Rulers
If Mr. Buxton would originate
a Motion for the production of Lord Glenelgs
instructions to Sir R Bourke and the
whole of the Correspondence upon the
Subject of the Port Philip Colony
he would greatly serve his Country
and still more the Cause of Humanity
Religion and Morality - Were I 20
years younger and on the Spot - I would
