and of course will not foster the Port
Philip one but throw any weight, they
may have, into the opposite Scale -
Perhaps Mr. Buxton on being made
acquainted with the gross outrages commit-
-ted at Portland bay from the want of controlling
authorities there (he must know the state of
the Settlement at Hunter's River) might be
induced to take up our Case warmly -
independently of the equitable & Moral
principles upon which it is founded
and there perhaps might be no
harm done were you to shew him
the cover to this and also my letter
of 26th. Jany. to Ld. Glenelg with all the
documents therein alluded to - I anxiously
wish I had some person of weight resident
in London to take a Share and force
the matter by importunities upon the
notice - not alone of the Colonial Office but
of his Majesty's Ministers - I really
know of no such person! perhaps you will
assist me
