My Dear Sir
The Gentleman alluded to in
my letters of 26th & today is Sir George Campbell
elder Brother to the Atty Genl. he appears well
inclined to take a Share but is alarmed
lest it might be considered a job on his
part - he has written to his Br. and declines
to come to any decision until he shall hear
from him - I rather think that Sir John
will oppose Sir George's junction with us -
Sir Charles Burrell having also
declined I really know not to what
quarter I can look for this description of
aid and without it we can do little or
nothing as no attention will be paid
to any letter at the Colonial Office unless
