Malcolm Fraser on fighting terrorism

The Right Honourable Malcolm Fraser AC CH examines strategies available to modern democracies in the fight against terrorism without compromising liberties or increasing division.

Malcolm was elected to Federal Parliament shortly after graduating from Oxford University. He was prime minister of a caretaker government in 1975 before being elected in the subsequent election, and re-elected in 1977 and 1980.

Malcolm was chairman of CARE Australia from 1987 to December 2001, president of CARE International from 1990 to 1995, and vice-president from 1995 to 1999.

Malcolm delivered the Stephen Murray-Smith Lecture at the State Library of Victoria in 2005.
