Madonna Grehan: An émigré gentlewoman midwife in Port Phillip and Victoria 1848–80. Biographical history

This project will support research for a history of women, maternity care and family life in mid–19th-century Victoria. It will be seen through the lens of Sarah Barfoot, an émigré midwife who in 1848 joined the diaspora from Van Diemen’s Land to the District of Port Phillip.
