The State Library Victoria will be transformed into a sensory wonderland for White Night Melbourne. See projections inspired by Alice's adventures in Wonderland on the Library’s facade before stepping inside our iconic domed reading room for an immersive journey down the rabbit hole…
Projection artist Nick Azidis will light up the exterior of the Library with Rabbit hole, incorporating material from Lewis Carroll's masterpiece. Eat me is a 360-degree projection created by renowned French artists Antoine + Manuel that will animate the monumental architecture of the Library’s dome. Commissioned by the State Library for White Night Melbourne, Eat me uses 3D mapping techniques, animation and stage design to turn the dome into a whimsical, abstract dreamscape. Shifts in scale, luscious gardens and vibrant colours will be set against an all-night soundtrack created by Melbourne electro-pop artist Sui Zhen, who will also perform a special live act at 7.15pm and 8pm.
Step out of the dome and into Bohemian Melbourne, an exhibition celebrating a who’s who of creative free spirits through their art and the bohemian legacy that has shaped the character of this city.
White Night Melbourne at State Library Victoria is not to be missed.
