The men of the 22nd Battalion, like many before them, trained in Egypt before being sent to Gallipoli, and spent off-duty hours seeing the sights. The battalion, including Rev Bennett, was present during the so-called Second Battle of the Wazzir, when diggers rioted in the red-light district of Cairo.
