The Electronic Book Library (EBL) is a collection of thousands of Australian ebooks that you can read online or download for free. The non-fiction ebooks span a range of topics, including travel, cooking, literature, sport and more.
Accessing the Electronic Book Library
To access the Electronic Book Library you need to be a registered Victorian Library user. If you haven't already registered, join the Library now.
You can access the EBL from anywhere in Australia, either from this page or via:
- our Encyclopedias, dictionaries & ebooks online page
- the Library's online catalogue record for the ebook (select 'View ebook' in the 'View online' tab of the record).
You'll be prompted to log in with your Library card details before you are directed to the EBL, even if you're at the Library.
Reading the ebooks
You can choose to read the ebooks online, or download them to your computer or mobile device. Downloaded ebooks will be available for you to read offline for seven days.
