Summer Read on the lawn

Tuesday 4 February 2014 - Friday 28 February 2014
Free
Library forecourt
328 Swanston Street, Melbourne

Calling all loungers and lunchers! Celebrate summer by dipping into one of our Summer Read titles – all set in Victoria, about Victorians or by Victorian authors – out on our front lawn. We're providing the books and a bunch of comfy beanbags – BYO sunscreen and hat.

While you're here, fill out an entry form to enter our Summer Read prize draw – all you have to do is name a book you’ve read from this year’s Summer Read list, and recommend another book you’ve enjoyed.

Look for the blackboard signs or our super-helpful staff, who will be on hand to answer questions and share information about our other summer activities.

Want to keep reading after you return your book? Readings bookstore and your local library will be stocking copies of the books.

If you enjoy being read to, come along to our Summer Read author readings – every Wednesday during February at 12.10pm and 1.10pm, on the front lawn:

  • Wednesday 5 Feb – Steven Carroll, author of A World Of Other People
  • Wednesday 12 February – Father Bob, the subject of Father Bob: The Larrikin Priest
  • Wednesday 19 February – Alex Hammond, author of Blood Witness
  • Wednesday 26 February – Torre DeRoche, author of Love With A Chance Of Drowning
