What was it like to be a Victorian during WWI?

Join bestselling author, historian and radio commentator Michael McKernan in conversation with Kate Darian-Smith, Professor of Australian Studies and History, University of Melbourne. They will be discussing stories from the home front and battlefront from Michael's new illustrated book, Victoria at war 1914–1918.

These moving personal stories commemorate the generosity, devotion, sacrifice and spirit of communities throughout Victoria during World War I. Photographs, letters, diaries and other items from the State Library’s Manuscripts and Pictures collections will also be on display.

Books will be available on the night for purchase and signing through Readings bookstore.
