Develop a purpose
Your work will be marked on whether you've made your point in a clear and interesting way.
Good writing always has a clear purpose. It outlines the key ideas of an argument or idea in a consistent and logical way.
And your assignment is not exception. So when you're coming up with the purpose, think about:
- the question – what you have to do to answer each part of your question
- your argument – the point you're trying to make
- your assessment criteria – what you have to do to get the mark that you want
- your audience – who will see your work and what they're looking for
- how you can make your work more interesting
- whether you have a choice in the way you can present your information.
For example
Your argument is the message you want to leave in your reader's mind. It answers the question, 'What do I think about this topic?'
