Motoring Manuals & Periodicals

The Library has over 700 motoring manuals for a wide range of vehicles from England, America, Europe, Japan and Australia. Including current and historic cars and commercial vehicles, this collection also contains manuals for motorcycles, lawn mowers, farm vehicles and other machines using small engines.

What's special about the Motoring Manuals & Periodicals Collection?

Manuals generally date from the 1920s onwards and include a variety of models and makes - Morris, Austin-Healey, Holden, Toyota, Ford, Fiat, Goggomobil, Rover and Wolseley to name just a few. The Library also has an extensive range of motoring and cycling periodicals. Mostly from the United Kingdom, many date back to the early 20th century and, in a few cases, to the late 19th century.

Publications of motoring organisations such as the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, and newsletters produced by car clubs add another dimension to this significant collection.
