Electronic resources

The following items are a selection of electronic materials that are available for research and study when you visit the Library. Most of these items can be accessed at computer workstations throughout the Library. Staff at the information desks can help you locate these resources.

Updated daily by EBSCOhost, the following four multi-disciplinary data-bases include entries on World War I, with some full-text articles and book reviews. The databases can be searched separately or simultaneously.

Academic Search Premier
The world’s largest multi-disciplinary data-base, with full-text articles from scholarly and peer-reviewed journals and publications. 

MasterFILE Premier
Provides full-text entries from over 2000 general reference publications.

World Magazine Bank
Entries from 250 publications published in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, UK, South Africa and USA.

Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre 
Provides local perspectives, with many articles from newspapers and magazines.

British Humanities Index
Covering 1962 to the present, this database indexes over 300 journals published in the UK. Content includes diverse aspects of World War I.

Periodicals Contents Index (PCI)
Electronic index to more than 4000 periodicals dealing with research subjects in the social sciences and humanities. There is some World War I content, including Australian material.

Soldiers died in the Great War 1914-19
Data-base listing British army deaths and casualties of World War I.  Held in the Genealogy Centre.
