Contains facts and figures that date back to the establishment of the Victorian Football League. It is a comprehensive mix of football statistics and historical connections.
Regular features include every draft selection, player profiles for the season, analysis of that seasons fixture and a complete review of the previous season.
Earlier editions dating back to 1975 can be requested from storage.

The Encyclopedia lists every footballer who has played in the Australian Football League since the competition's first season (as the VFL) in 1897. Each entry lists number of games, number of goals and birth or death date if known. Many entries also contain career information. Many well known players have several paragraphs devoted to their careers.

Wisden cricketers' almanack

First class cricket's standard reference book mixture of statistics, reports, awards and events. Originally titled John Wisden's cricketers' almanack, Wisden's has been published annually since 1864, State Library holds from 1870.

Miller's guide

A comprehensive guide to the current Australian horseracing season. It provides detailed analysis and statistics of the major Australian races, horses, jockeys and trainers. Historical results of these races and miscellaneous historical sporting results from Australia and overseas are included. Issues are held back to the 1880s and can be requested from storage.

The complete book of the Olympics, David Wallechinsky, 2004

Good basic reference for results and history of the Olympic Games from 1896 to 2000. it contains the top eight finishers in every summer Olympic event for this period as well as a history of the event and any associated dramatic occurrences. Other sections include discontinued events, issues in the Olympic movement and national medal totals.

Rugby League....

The definitive handbook of the year in the National Rugby League (Australia) as well as statistical information since the inception of the NRL (as the NSW Rugby League) in 1908.
