Electronic resources

The following items are a selection of electronic materials that are available for research and study when you visit the Library. Most of these items can be accessed at computer workstations throughout the Library. Staff at the information desks can help you locate these resources.

Academic Search Premier
A multidisciplinary database with nearly 4,000 full-text journals including a collection of  psychology and behavioural science  titles.

APAIS: Australian Public Affairs Information Service
Includes some full-text articles but is mainly an index to the Australian social sciences literature.

AEI: Australian Education Index
An index to the literature on Education and related fields, including research, policy administration, teacher education, curriculum, educational psychology and library services.

Sociological Collection
A sub-set of Academic Search Premier, this database allows for a more focused subject search.

BHI: British Humanities Index
An international abstracting and indexing tool for journals and magazines, mainly humanities but gives good coverage of articles on gender studies, religion, current and foreign affairs, education and language. Selectively indexes UK newspapers.

CINCH
Produced by the Australian Institute of Criminology, an Australian criminology database indexing  the crime and criminal justice literature including corrections, crime prevention, criminal law, criminology, juvenile justice, law enforcement, police and victims of crime.

DRUG
he DRUG database is an index covering the  political, social, economic, psychological and legal aspects of prevention and treatment of alcohol and other drug abuse. Both legal and illegal drugs are included. Australian and overseas sources are covered.

FAMILY
Produced by the Australian Institute of Family Studies, an index to Australian titles on all aspects of family studies

MAIS: Australian Multicultural Affairs Information Service
This database provides a comprehensive index to Australian literature on multiculturalism and immigration.

PCI:  Periodical Contents Index
An international index to social sciences/humanities journals spanning 200 years; currently up to 1995.
