Provides access to images located in libraries, museums, galleries and archives, including the State Library of Victoria Pictures Collection. There are links to member agency web sites and to other image collections within Australia and overseas.

Search AMOL’s Open Collections for objects and images from Australian museums and galleries. When conducting a image search select images only from the Find records with section. Search or browse for a museum or gallery in Australia using the AMOL National Guide.

The D W Stock Picture Library
http://www.dwpicture.com.au/ Located in Sydney, the D W Stock Picture Library includes over 100,000 images covering horticulture, natural history, travel. Includes recent images. An example of a commercial Picture Library.
Museum Victoria
http://www.museum.vic.gov.au/ Museum Victoria records Australia’s environmental and cultural history and is custodian of the State's Sciences, Indigenous, Australian Society and Technology collections. The Biggest Family Album Database provides online access to over 9,000 photographs dating from about 1900. The photographs document the natural environments, the nature of work, recreation, technology, travel and farming.
National Gallery of Victoria

NAVA (National Association for the visual arts)

Includes information sheets providing practical advice on everything from applying for grants to finding artists and galleries.
Royal Historical Society of Victoria
http://www.historyvictoria.org.au/ The RHSV’s image collection includes original artworks and historical photographs dating from the 1850s. Major subject areas are portraiture, street scenes of Melbourne and many Victorian country towns. The HistoryVictoria Database currently contains 25,500 records. The first stage of a project to publish the catalogues of the RHSV online includes a selection of records from the Images Collection.
Screensound Australia
