Electronic resources

The following items are a selection of electronic materials that are available for research and study when you visit the Library. Most of these items can be accessed at computer workstations throughout the Library. Staff at the Information Centre and Redmond Barry Reading Room information desks can help you locate these resources. 

APAIS  Australian Public Affairs   1978-
Subject coverage includes current affairs, law, politics and social sciences, indexed entries include an abstract and some articles are full text.  This is also available in print back to 1945.

Academic Search Premier
Multi-disciplinary database, providing full text for nearly 4,600 full text journals, including politics, law and government.  Provides access to Australian and overseas journal articles.

AGIS plus text 1975-
Coverage is focussed on law, politics and social sciences.  Includes index and abstracts on journal articles on all aspects of Australian law , some full text articles

House of Commons Parliamentary Papers (1801-)
Index of all British parliamentary papers from 1801-.  This is a finding  aid to State Library’s holdings of British parliamentary papers, which are not individually catalogued.  Parliamentary papers include command papers, commissions of inquiry, annual reports and during the 1800s reports on aspects of the Australian colonies.

United Nations Documents Database (1992-)
United Nations Optical Disk System provides full text of all United Nations documents from 1992, including resolutions, official records of meetings and parliamentary reports.

Official Journal of the European Communities & Official Journal of the European Union 2000-
Full text of the European Union official publications.  EU legislation, including regulations, directives, decisions, recommendations and opinions.   EU information and notices of judgements of the Court of Justice and the Court of First Instance; minutes of parliamentary meetings.   Older material is available in microfiche and hard copy.
