Electronic resources
The following items are a selection of electronic materials that are available for research and study when you visit the Library. Most of these items can be accessed at computer workstations throughout the Library. Staff at the Information Centre information desk can help you locate these resources.
Business
APAIS: Australian Public Affairs Information Service
APAIS has references to selected articles including Australian political, economic, legal, social and cultural affairs. Searchers can choose to search the full text or the index versions of this source.
Annual Report Collection
A major source of information for the annual reports of the top 500 companies publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. The database includes an index and full text from 1992 onwards.
Business Who's Who of Australia on the Web
This is an online directory of all publicly listed and selected private companies. Details include contact information, revenue, names and positions of key personnel, associated companies, agencies, trade names and product range.
Business Source Premier
Business Source Premier is a large international database providing indexing, abstracts and full text from business publications on topics such as management, economics, finance, accounting, industries and international business.
DatAnalysis Online
A major source of information about delisted and publicly listed companies on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). The database includes corporate details, selected share market data, history, structure and operations, summaries of company reports and the full text of selected company announcements submitted to the ASX, January 1989 onwards. Company documents in image format are also available from 1999.
Emerald Reviews
Offers references to and abstracts of articles from more than 400 international management journals covering issues in top management, marketing and logistics, human resources, information management and technology, accounting and finance, operations and production and quality management. It has international coverage and the content is from 1989 to current day.
Jobson's Online
Jobson's Online is a directory of companies listed on the Australian & New Zealand Stock Exchanges. Current, key information is provided in this database.
Kompass Asia Pacific and Kompass Australia on CD-ROM
These directories offer detailed information on the products, services and trade names associated with large and medium sized businesses in Australia and Asia-Pacific.
PROMT: Predicasts Overview of Markets and technology
This is an index to international trade and business journals, newspapers and industry newsletters. This multi-industry database covers companies, products, markets and technologies and comes with some full text content.
Smartbix
A key Australian index that provides references to and summaries of selected articles on business, trade and industry from a range of Australian newspapers and journals. Content is from 1981 to current day.
Statistics
eLEP Australian Bureau of Statistics
This is the Australian Bureau of Statistics online service that provides access to all ABS publications from 1998 in Adobe Acrobat format. Content includes the ABS online catalogue, full-text publications information papers, information about ABS publication releases, and the ABS Directory of Statistical Sources.
CLIB Australian Bureau of Statistics
CLIB has Australian Bureau of Statistics data from the 1991, 1996 & 2001 Census of Population and Housing. A range of profiles can be accessed that provide statistics for areas from the level of local communities (collection district level) to the whole of Australia. Data can be displayed, printed and aggregated.
