Miles Lewis

While the contents of this site is of general interest, the Research Databases are the most relevant:

- Melbourne Mansions database
This searchable database on major Melbourne houses of the 19th century is the result of a project funded by the Australian Research Council. A book based upon this material is in preparation, but is not mounted here. The database can be searched by location, name of architect, and company. It contains internal provision for emailing comments back to Professor Lewis.
Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales
http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/picman/about.cfm Picman is the Pictures catalogue of the Mitchell Library (Australiana), State Library of New South Wales. There are over 700 records for original architectural drawings or collections on Picman. Many records have images attached.
Public Record Office of Victoria
http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/ Readers can register as a user and search the online catalogue.
Royal Australian Institute of Architects
http://www.architecture.com.au/i-cms?page=1 You can search the current ‘Australian Directory of Architects and Building Designers’ which contains information about each of the State Chapters.
