Trevor McAllister has been a voluntary guide at the Library since 2001. He, and the other Library guides support the Library by offering their time to conduct regular tours for the public and, when required, provide a helping hand at exhibitions and open days.
'I really enjoy meeting the public, pointing out the main information facilities, describing the architecture and development of the site, and telling them about the history of the Library. I particularly enjoy taking tours of the paintings in the Cowen Gallery which show historical views of Melbourne and portraits of early settlers, public figures, artists and writers.'
