Supporting the Library
The State Library of Victoria provides a wide range of high quality services for all Victorians, collects material of cultural and historical importance, and offers a variety of public programs and exhibitions. Increasingly, the Library relies on various kinds of support to continue this work.
The State Library of Victoria Foundation plays a pivotal role in this area. Established in 1994, the Foundation has raised funds and attracted other kinds of support through memberships, donations, sponsorships and bequests. In recent years, the Foundation has helped the Library to:
- acquire new material and conserve significant items in the collection
- mount major exhibitions, events and programs
- purchase interactive technologies for the Keith Murdoch Gallery and Experimedia.
