James and Sarah Butler were the first to purchase a pane of glass in the Library's dome as part of the Your Place in Our History donation program.
'Despite advances in electronic media, books remain an important source of knowledge and relaxation. How better to celebrate the book than to support the ongoing existence of the State Library? Participating in the Your Place in Our History program also allowed us to contribute to the restoration of one of Melbourne's most significant buildings. We encourage other Melburnians to give their support.'
