AskNow

AskNow is a collaborative, chat-based information service staffed by state, territory and some public libraries in Australia, the National Library of Australia, and the National Library of New Zealand. It has been operating since August 2002.

The web-based service enables users to ask librarians to answer brief factual questions, or engage in a chat discussion to resolve their information needs. Librarians search library catalogues and the internet to provide answers and guidance in real time.

The service is available Monday to Friday, 9am-7pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (except national public holidays).
