Susan Halliday was first appointed to the Board in September 2001. She was reappointed for three years in 2004, and again in 2007.
Originally a teacher of English and History, Susan pursued an extensive private sector career, followed by simultaneous terms as federal Sex Discrimination Commissioner and Disability Discrimination Commissioner from 1998 to 2001.
She was appointed inaugural Chairperson of Victoria’s largest professional regulatory body, the Victorian Institute of Teaching, in 2002, and is currently a Board member of Caraniche Pty Ltd. Susan also manages an employment law and investigations firm, which she established in 2001. She is a Life Governor of the Australian Childhood Foundation, with profiled expertise in the fields of education and human rights. |
