The Inkys - Voting Now Open
28 September 2007
There is no award in Australia that reflects what teenagers want to read, only what they are told to read.
The Inkys are Australia’s first teenage choice awards.
There are two awards: an Australian book will win the Golden Inky Award, and an international winner the Silver Inky. Medallion stickers produced for winning books will be appropriately gold and silver. The Australian writer will receive prize money and a trophy; the international winner will receive a trophy only.
The Inkys come at a very exciting time in the life of insideadog.com.au – the website is very close to reaching its half-a-millionth visitor.
The shortlist was chosen by a panel of six judges – four teenagers from Victoria, NSW and Queensland, insideadog project manager Lili Wilkinson, and Ryan Paine, editor of Voiceworks magazine.
Voting is now open, and will stay open until November 5. Votes can be submitted via SMS, or online.
You must be under 25 to vote, and you can only vote twice (once for the Golden Inky and once for the Silver).
The winners will be announced on Monday 12 November 2007 at an event at the State Library of Victoria.
