Literary Awards Shortlist Announced

The 2007 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards shortlist was announced today by Minister for the Arts Lynne Kosky. The shortlist recognises 39 writers across 11 award categories. These writers are now in the runnning to share a total prize pool of $195,000.
A record number of entries were received this year in the CJ Dennis Prize for Poetry and the Prize for Young Adult Fiction. In addition, judges were impressed with the high quality of works submitted across all categories.
The winners of the awards will be announced at a public dinner on Monday 3 September at Zinc, Federation Square.
