Stephen Murray-Smith Lecture Available Online

The recording of the recent Stephen Murray-Smith Lecture is now available online for listening and downloading.

The 55-minute lecture is delivered by Dr Tom Griffiths, Professor of History and Graduate Director in the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. He discusses Stephen Murray-Smith's 1985-86 visit to Antarctica and his hope for more cultural engagement with the continent, and Dr Griffiths' own writings on the subject, captured in his book Slicing the Silence: Voyaging to Antarctica.

The audio can be heard online or downloaded for later listening on an mp3 player. The lecture is also part of the SLV Podcast, which provides access to major lectures held at the Library.
