CHILDREN'S COMPUTERS Four dedicated children's computers are now available in the Library's Information Centre, just outside Experimedia. They provide age-appropriate content filtering to help children surf the web safely. Ask at the Information Desk for more information. (Parents are reminded that children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian when using the Library's computer equipment to access the internet.)

ANNOUNCEMENTS
PREMIER WRITERS SHORTLISTED FOR AWARDS The shortlist for the 2006 Premier's Literary Awards was announced on 11 August. It features well-known writers such as Kate Grenville and Peter Carey along with up-and-coming new authors.
The winners of these prestigious awards will be announced by the Premier, the Hon Steve Bracks at a celebratory dinner to be held at Zinc, Federation Square, on Monday 4 September. If you would like to be there when the names are read out, book your ticket now.

COWEN GALLERY CATALOGUED The Library's Cowen Gallery now has its very own published catalogue, launched on 21 August. Written by the Gallery's first curator, Michael D Galimany, it details the space's history and provides a beautifully illustrated guide to the artworks on show. It can be purchased for $14.95 in the Library's foyer shop or online.
