NEW LIBRARY BOARD OF VICTORIA APPOINTMENTS Last month, the Governor in Council appointed two new members to the Library Board of Victoria. John Cain, Premier of Victoria from 1982 to 1990, brings a wealth of experience to the role, as does Stephen Kerr, who is the current Chairman of the State Library of Victoria Foundation.

MALCOLM FRASER DELIVERS 2005 STEPHEN MURRAY-SMITH LECTURE Former Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Fraser will examine one of the most controversial issues of our time in his lecture How Democracies Fight Terrorism. VICTORIA’S GIFT TO NANJING LIBRARY ON DISPLAY IN COWEN GALLERY The Open World tapestry was commissioned by the Victorian State Government as a gift from the people of Victoria to the Nanjing Library, China.
