Under the direction of the Library Board of Victoria, the Executive manages the Library and its collections, services, programs and responsibilities.
The Executive is made up of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and State Librarian and four directors.
CEO & State Librarian
Sue Roberts is the CEO and State Librarian. She has overall responsibility for:
- ensuring the implementation of the Board's directions
- sound corporate governance
- managing the state collection and the Library's operations
The Library's directors and the executive director of the State Library of Victoria Foundation report to her.
Director, Development
Shane Carmody is responsible for the Library’s development, including:
- major events and activities
- collection development and interpretation
- major acquisitions
- Creative Fellows program
- Foundation activities
- digitising strategy
Director, Collection Management & Access
Liz Jesty is responsible for the Library's collection management and access, including:
- the state collection
- information services and resources
- acquisitions, digitisation and cataloguing
- collection conservation
- storage, retrieval and reformatting
- exhibitions and events
Director, Corporate Services & Planning
Kate Molloy is responsible for the Library's corporate services and planning, including:
- financial management and corporate governance
- business planning and development
- human resources
- buildings and facilities
- information and communications technology infrastructures and applications
Director, Community, Learning & Public Library Partnerships
Debra Rosenfeldt is responsible for the Library's community, learning and public library partnerships, including:
- learning services program
- relationship with the statewide network of public libraries
- communications and marketing
