2014: Madonna Grehan
Madonna Grehan researched An émigré gentlewoman midwife in Port Phillip and Victoria 1848–80. The project explored the history of women, maternity care and family life in mid–19th-century Victoria, seen through the lens of Sarah Barfoot, an émigré midwife who in 1848 joined the diaspora from Van Diemen’s Land to the District of Port Phillip.
