2014: Jill Jolliffe
Project: Images of war
During her 2014 fellowship, former war correspondent Jill Jolliffe examined how images of WWI influenced the decision to join up.
Her research resulted in a Creative Conversations discussion, held at the Library in July 2015. In this fascinating presentation, Jill drew on frontline reports from war correspondents, photographers and artists, and compared them to how the war was presented to the Australian people in the media. Through material found in the State Library's collection, her examination revealed how reporting influenced public perception.
